TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Volleyball in the Big Bend is competitive to say the least. Sneads High School won their fourth straight State Championship, while Leon and Maclay made it the State Final Four in their respective classifications.

The Marauders of Maclay are a week and a half in to practice for the 2017 season, and after falling short last year, they are hungry.

Head coach Erica Bunch admitted she is excited about this team. They have a senior class that is five strong, while the young girls are a year older, something that makes for the perfect mix to reach their end goal.

"It's in their hands. That's what I tell them every single day,"she said. "It's like if you come in here and you train hard, and you absolutely believe in what we're doing, then there's nobody that can beat us. If we don't want to work hard, and we go in thinking that we're going to win, then there's going to be some serious upsets. Just hitting that grind, and putting it in their face every single day, we made it to the Final Four, but there's a lot of unsaid business."

Maclay opens the regular season on August 21st.
