On Saturday morning, Maclay Gardens State park was home to the Red Hills Triathlon. This race has been run every year since 2001 and hundred came out to compete.
From sprint, to masters and even grand masters, there were athletes of all ages, some up to 70 years old.
It was a former Nole who crossed the finish line first, Jeremy Richardson in a time of 1 hour, 21 minutes. For the ladies, the overall winner was Jillian Heddaeus, who finished at a time right around 1 hour, 30 minutes.
The race was sanctioned by USA Triathlon and consisted of a swim at .33 miles, a bike course just over 19 miles and a run at 3.1 miles.
