TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Within the world of high school soccer, we are down to just one. The Maclay Marauders, following their 1-0 win over Orangewood Christian on Tuesday, are just two wins away from a State Championship.
It was a frenzy outside of Webster Gymnasium this afternoon as the Maclay Marauders loaded up the charter bus bound for Naples. As they continue their journey towards a State Championship, which for every member of this team would be their first.
Up next? Community School of Naples, a team with one loss and twelve seniors, but if you ask coach, this group is prepared and they deserve to be in this position.
"What's great about this team, for the seniors, is that this is the first time in four years they've head an opportunity to go to the Final Four," said head coach Andy Warner. "For Maclay, that's always one of our goals, to be in the big game, so for them we couldn't be any happier for them."
Friday's match kicks off at 6:00 in Naples.
