TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Maclay girls basketball team finished second in their District this year, punching their ticket to the postseason after missing out a year ago.
On Friday, one of the key components to that squad inked a letter of intent to continue not only her basketball career, but one on the track as well.
Skila Rogers will continue both sports at Waldorf, an NAIA University of Forest City, Iowa. To have the opportunity to compete in both sports at the next level? A good feeling, and one Rogers said she is thankful for.
"I love both track and basketball. I don't think I'll ever be able to give that up, just excited!" she laughed. "The coaches show great interest in me, They were interested in my well being, not just interested as an athlete on the court or on the field."
Rogers said she plans on majoring in Criminal Justice.
