TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The early signing period kicked off last Wednesday, and several area standouts took advantage and put pen to paper to make it official with their college of choice sooner than later.
Another high school senior was added to the list of early signees on Monday, as Maclay basketball standout Kyle McWilliams signed on the dotted line in front of friends and family.
The shooting guard inked his letter of intent with Florida Southern, the reigning Division II National Champions, and of signing to play at the next level, he admitted it still hasn't hit him.
"It's just such a great community here at Maclay," he said on Monday. I mean, I have such great friends and family and they all came to support me, and I've had that support system since my freshman year of high school. All the hard work that I've put in, all the practices we went through, all the tournaments that I went to, it's all pays off today. It feels great to finally sign."
McWilliams averaged over 14 points per game last season for the Marauders, who reached the Regional Finals.
