VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Lowndes High is looking for a AAAAAAA State title this season.
This week, Westlake stands in the way in second round play. Head coach Randy McPherson notes this Viking squad is still very young, but they're working hard. He added they understand that postseason mentality of win or go home, and he likes what he's seeing.
"We've had our best two weeks of practice last week and this week," he said. "Kids are real excited. Real excited about going up there to Atlanta and competing. We're going to have to play great defense first always, we're going to have to make some plays on offense because their offense is very explosive."
Lowndes' match-up with Westlake is set for a 7:30 kick at Westlake.
