TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Friday was a big day for one Lincoln High School athlete, as Trojan soccer standout Rebekah Dennis inked with Middle Georgia State University.
Dennis, who was a four year varsity starter, earned first team All Big Bend honors last season. She shined on defense for Lincoln, and after overcoming an ACL injury, she said she's excited to play at the next level.
"It means a lot to me and my family, and I know not just like my blood family, but like soccer and other teams I've been involved in," she said Friday. "Ever since freshman year just how much work I've put in, the struggles I've came through, it just means a lot to my family and I. I'm just really excited."
Middle Georgia State is a NAIA University in Cochran, Georgia, and head coach Vinny Gill was on hand for Friday's signing. He said Dennis is the kind of player you build your team around.
