TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Erin Turral helped lead the Lincoln girls basketball team to somewhere it's never been before this season, the State Final Four. For her efforts? The freshman earned Class 8A Player of the Year honors.
Now Turral is recognized nationally, as at the end of this month, she'll head to Colorado to compete for a spot on Team USA's U16 team, one of around 40 girls selected nationwide.
Turral was noticed by Team USA staff. They sent her mom an e-mail, and the rest is history.
"It hasn't hit me yet, probably when I get there, it'll really hit me," she admitted. "I was very shocked. I didn't really think about it like that. This is going to be kind of great, great experience, and I get to travel world wide, so I like that too."
