TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - 2003 was the last time the Lincoln baseball team made it to the State Final Four. They settled for State Runners-up.

This weekend, Lincoln is headed back to the State Finals for the first time in fourteen years, and they're looking to win gold.

This trip has been a long time coming for the program, and it continues Friday morning when the Trojans take on Nova in the Class 8A State Semifinals.

Making it this far is a huge deal, and the guys admit a lot of them haven't quite grasped how big the moment is.

"I'm real excited. It's nice that it's my last year and we can go out and do something special," said senior pitcher Austin Pollock. "I just want to do it for the school and for all the guys on the team because I know they want it just as bad as I do."

"Very exciting," agreed senior Zach Taylor. "First time we've done it in 14 years. It doesn't get better than this. That's what we've been working for all year. The situation definitely hasn't taken a hold yet. We don't know the gratitude or anything like that. It still hasn't hit."

Friday's State Semifinal game kicks off at 10 in the morning. The winner advances to Saturday's title game.
