TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Monday was a big day over at Leon, and even though the nasty weather in Tallahassee knocked out power, the Lions gathered as the Florida Dairy Farmers 8A Volleyball Player of the Year Makayla Washington made things official with South Florida.
Washington said she is ready to be a Bull, and said this is a day she has been waiting for for quite some time.
"I committed to the University of South Florida my sophomore year and I've been counting down the days every day since," she smiled. "It's overwhelming, it's great, it's really humbling and heartwarming to see all of your friends and peers from different places, some from church and school, some from volleyball and it's nice to know I feel loved and appreciated."
Washington does plan to early enroll at USF.
