TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - One game is all that stands between Leon High School and a State Championship. This weekend the Lions look to win a State title for the first time since 2011.
The ladies have been dominant of late - they haven't lost since September 29th. Up next? Venice High School, the number one team in Class 8A.
It's a stiff challenge, but the Lions believe they are more than ready.
"I think we're going strong, and that's the best part of it," said head coach Angie Strickland. "We're not breaking down, we're not fizzling out per say, we are actually stronger now going forward than I think we have been since districts."
Saturday Class 8A State Championship game is set for 4:00.
