TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Leon Lion soccer star Jada Morgan signed an athletic scholarship today to play soccer at Talladega College in Talladega, Ala.
Jada became serious about playing soccer upon entering high school, and during her sophomore year she decided that she wanted to play at the collegiate level. She spent her Freshman and Sophomore years playing Junior Varsity where she played as a striker for three years, then was switched to defensive midfield position for her Senior season. She was proud to have been a Senior defender and Captain on the Leon High team that lost only four regular season games and gave up the least number of goals in the past 5 years.
As a sophomore on the Junior Varsity, she won the MVP award by scoring 11 goals. As a senior she received the Heart of the Lion Award and the Senior Leadership Award. She was also a Co-Captain. Jada earned All Big Bend honors her Senior year as a defender and ran track for four years for coaches Kyler Hall, Andrew Wills and Riley Bell, and participated in AAU club track for three years for the Trailblazers, coached by Calvin Sancho. She played travel soccer for two years at Tallahassee United Futbol Club for coaches Alex Minton and Heather Zurburg. In school Jada participated with Leon Capital Singers and Lions United Special Olympics, and was named Homecoming Queen and Most Athletic. Jada graduated with distinction with a 3.4 GPA.
Jada was born and raised in Tallahassee. Her parents are James and Lori Morgan and she has three sisters: Maya and Nia Morgan and Patrice Lyons. She started playing soccer at 8 years old for Tallahassee Parks and Recreation. She Played soccer for Raa Middle School in the 8th grade and was coached by Gary Kenney. She also ran track in 7th and 8th grade and was also coached by Gary Kenney.
