Leon Preps For District Tournament, Playoff Run

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - For high school volleyball teams, this week is the week that means everything. It's District tournament time, and everyone is 0-0 on the season. That survive and advance mentality is full force for everyone.

The Leon Lions are coming off back to back Final Four appearances, with both of those appearances five set losses to Plant.

Leon is the one seed heading into this week's Class 8A District 2 Tournament, and they await the winner of Chiles and Lincoln. Lions head coach Angie Strickland likes that her team has a few more days to prep, as getting the one seed has given them that luxury.

"You have to prepare just as much as you can, and talk to them about what they may see or how it might be different this time," she said as they gear up to face a team they've already seen twice this season. "I think at this point as we head into the postseason, it's really about adaptability is the team that'll be able to adjust and make better decisions after points or points or points lost, or even a game lost is how teams are going to be able to adapt and change."

Chiles and Lincoln play Tuesday at 7:00 at Leon, and Leon plays the winner Thursday for the District Championship.
