TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon Lions hosted Chiles on Wednesday night in a big Class 7A District 2 contest. The match-up, extra important, as it marked the beginning of the second round of District play, and with both teams and Lincoln tied at 1-1, it'd give one team an advantage in the standings.
The match, intense from the get go, with both teams exchanging leads in the first set. Chiles pulled away late, but Ashley Dodson put the Lions back in in, serving back to back to back aces, and the Deja Washington knotted things at 22 all before Leon finally came back to take the set 26-24.
Chiles fought back in the second set, winning 26-24. Chiles took the third set, but Leon won the final two to improve to 2-1 in 7A-2 play, and claim sole possession of first place in the District.
