TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - High school students returned to class Wednesday in Leon County, and the return of school meant the return of after school activities.
Leon and Chiles diving right into District competition, with the 8A-2 rivals facing off in front of a large crowd. Leon defeated the Timberwolves in straight sets in a touch match 25-20, 25-20, 25-11.
Makayla Washington led the Lions with eleven kills and seven blocks. Jordyn Goracke had thirteen assists in the win.
At Maclay, the Maruaders hosted PK Yonge, the team that eliminated them from the postseason in 2015. This year, the visiting Blue Wave no match for Maclay, as they stepped up to win 25-23, 25-16, 25-15.
