TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Leon High School softball team kicks off District play next week at Lincoln High School, but Friday's focus was all on Sara Jane Davis, who signed a college scholarship with LB Wallace.
The Saints, a junior college in Alabama, where Davis said she'll focus on middle infield. She's a utility player for the Lions, and is batting close to .500 in her senior season.
"I've played softball ever since I was born and it's just great to finally take the relief off my shoulders and be committed to somewhere," she said of signing a college scholarship. "It's just a really pretty school and they gave me a full ride. It's just really pretty and it's in one of my favorite states."
Davis added she wants to study dentistry.
