TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon High hosted Florida High is Thursday night high school football action, and the home Lions started the scoring.
John Carey punched it into the end zone on the quarterback keeper for the first touchdown of the night, giving Leon the 7-0 lead. Florida High would even the score, and then take the lead off a 41 yard field goal by Chase Allbaugh.
Leon exploded in the second half, beating the Seminoles 24-10.
In Georgia, the Cairo Syrupmakers were on the road Thursday at Shaw. The 'Makers won 40-0 to improve to 4-1 on the year, and 2-0 in AAAA Region 1 play.
