Leon Basketball Star Signs With Miles College

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The school year is winding down for high school students in South Georgia and North Florida, and there are still college signings in these final few days.

Leon High's Amya Bryant, a former Scholar Athlete of the Week, inked with Miles College Monday, a Division II College in Alabama.

Bryant averaged 14 points per game for the Lions this year, and of getting to play at the next level? She's still a little speechless.

"Honestly, it hasn't hit me yet, no," she laughed." I think when I graduate and walk across that stage, I'm going to feel it. It's really exciting. I'm excited to move on and see what's happening in the next chapter. I'm really going to miss this school and coach Daniels especially."

Bryant said she has plans on studying biology with hopes of becoming a neonatal nurse.
