GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 7) - The Florida A&M Softball team won the series as they won the rubber match with the Lady Rattlers blanking North Carolina A&T, 5-0 here Sunday afternoon at Aggies Softball Complex.
FAMU (11-27, 4-2 MEAC) was paced by Corinne Gordon as the Lady Rattlers finished with a game nine hits.
N.C. A&T (4-23, 2-4 MEAC) was led by Raven Smith with two hits as the Lady Aggies garnered four hits in the contest.
Jennifer Lindsey (6-17) got the win for FAMU as she gave up four hits, and striking out four in her seven innings in the circle, while Shelby Snyder (3-2) received the loss for N.C. A&T as gave up nine hits, five earned runs and striking out four in her seven innings in the circle.
Arianna Stewart gave the Lady Rattlers a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning as she singled left field scoring Alyssa Weaver.
FAMU made the score 4-0 in top of the fifth on a Myrick three-run homer to left field.
Christina Robbs scored the Lady Rattlers final run of the game on a Tikeya Strong double down the left field line, for the 5-0 finale.
The Lady Rattlers will return to action on Wednesday, April 10 as they will travel to Troy, Ala., to take on Troy University in a 7 p.m. EST start non-conference match up.
