TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State senior Lacey Waldrop will participate in the 2015 USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Camp on January 5-7 at Bill Barber Park in Irvine, Calif.
The USA National Player of the Year will compete for one of 17 spots on the 2015 WNT roster that will compete at the World Cup of Softball X and a spot on the 15-athlete roster that will compete in the 2015 Pan American Games.
The Chester, Va., native also participated in the 2014 USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Camp from June 8-22, amassing a record of 1-0 in two exhibition games with 4.1 innings pitched, allowing three hits, three runs, one earned run, one walk and recording four strikeouts.
“I’m really excited to be able to go back out there and try out again because the first time was such a great experience to get to know the girls that have played on the USA team before, as well as the new ones, because they have such a wealth of knowledge of the game,” Waldrop said. “Even though this trip will be a lot shorter, I’m just really excited to just be able to try out again and have the opportunity to wear USA across my chest, even if it only happens to be for a couple of days. But I’m going to put my best effort out and hope for the best.
