TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida State Seminole football team responded to their loss to Georgia Tech with a big win over Syracuse on Saturday. What was even more impressive was that the Noles did it without both their starting running back and their starting quarterback.
Both Dalvin Cook and Everett Golson were out on Saturday, but they did return to practice on Monday. It's safe to say there's a little bit of a quarterback battle after Sean Maguire's near 350 yard, three touchdown performance on Saturday, although head coach Jimbo Fisher downplayed that at Monday's weekly press conference.
The date with Clemson arguably the Noles biggest game of the season, depending on who you ask, as Fisher said this game is not defining of their season.
"I think all games are defining," he said. "I think you have to play them all the same. They're all the same responsibility as far as wins and losses, what they stand for. It's how you play in the game. At the end of the year that's the two teams that have usually had the best record at the end of the year. But as far as defining games in the season, I don't ever look at things like that."
Saturday's match-up with Clemson is set for 3:30.
