MONTICELLO, Fl. (WTXL) - Hurricane Irma forced the cancellation of St. John Paul II and Jefferson County in September, but on Monday, the two made up the game in Monticello.
Jefferson County jumped out to an early lead, and never looked back against the undefeated Panthers, winning 32-6, improving to 3-2 on the season.
"These guys are coming together," said head coach Leroy Smith after the win. "We have a plethora of athletes, now the job is just getting them to do what they are supposed to do, getting them to believe in our philosophy, and getting them to trust one another. Whenever they do that, the sky is the limit for these kids."
Jefferson County returns to action on Friday night, when they travel to Taylor County. St. John Paul II has a bye week.
