TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - There are a lot of things going on to celebrate the Garnet and Gold spring game. There are around 300 former Florida State football players in town, and several of them could be found playing golf this morning at former Seminole quarterback Jameis Winston's Seminole Golf Classic.
The Classic benefited Winston's Dream Forever Foundation, and fans got a chance to play alongside several former Seminoles, including Winston, Telvin Smith, and Derrick Brooks.
Some of the current Noles also made an appearance Friday morning, and to have all those champions in one place? Exactly what Jameis set out to do.
"I just wanted to give back to a city that had given me so much," he said before teeing off. "Just allowing me to play football, especially bringing former players back, just to have a reunion with the guys. I'm so thankful for everyone to come out here and support our foundation, and the old Seminoles to get out on this golf course and have a fun day."
The Dream Forever Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for financially disadvantaged children.
