CLEMSON, S.C. (WTXL) - Florida State gathered in a season-high 56 rebounds, including 30 offensive boards, also a season high, in a 59-43 victory over the Clemson Tigers at Littlejohn Coliseum Sunday afternoon.
"Our rebounding was great today," FSU head coach Sue Semrau said. "We didn't shoot the ball particularly well but the rebounds allowed us to have more possessions and get second-chance opportunities."
The Seminoles (18-9, 6-8) were led on the day by Natasha Howard's 19 points at 14 rebounds, the senior forward's 38th double-double in her career, a school record. Howard also moved into sole position of second-place at FSU in career scoring, passing Tia Paschal. Howard's 1,666 career points only trail Sue Galkantas' mark of 2,323 set from 1980-84.
FSU will close out the regular season next week with two home games: First against Georgia Tech Thursday, February 27 then against Virginia at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2.
