TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - High school hoops is heating up in the Big Bend, and for the Lincoln girls, there is a serious chip on their shoulders after making it to the Final Four and leaving empty handed.
The Trojans graduated a talented senior class, but return the Turral twins, who led in scoring last season, and have also added a couple of transfers.
So some new faces, but head coach Rod Mack excited about the future.
"This year, we actually started our conditioning a lot earlier," he said. "A lot of weight room, trying to work on getting our girls strong. It's one of the things we noticed last year in Lakeland, Winter Haven was just a real physical team."
He added that this year, he's amped up the schedule a bit more than in year's past. "Lot of out of town games, to get ourselves a little more diverse with teams outside of this area."
Game one is November 27th, when the Trojans take on FAMU DRS.
