TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The road to Orlando continued Tuesday night for several high school volleyball teams as Regional Quarterfinal and Semifinal play hit the court. District Runners-Up were on the road, while District Champions had the luxury of playing at home.
The Leon Lions hosted Tate, and took the first two sets easy. They sealed up the final set, and the match, thanks to a Daijah Washington ace to seal things up. The Lions host Lincoln in a rematch of the 7A-District 2 Championship game on Saturday in Regional Semifinal action, as the Trojans defeated Niceville.
In Class 5A, Wakulla hosted Arnold, and despite a five set battle, the War Eagles fell. Suwannee lost at Mosley to see their season end as well. Maclay defeated St. Johns Country Day in Class 3A, and whille play Providence in Regional Semifinal play Saturday, as Providence defeated John Paul II.
In Class 1A, Sneads won their Regional Semifinal battle with Jay, and is still in the hunt for a three peat. Lafayette defeated Hilliard in three sets. Sneads will play Baker Saturday in the Region 1 Final, while Lafayette will host Bell for the Region 3 crown. Winners advance to the State Semifinals.
