Taylor County football team's Friday game canceled due to COVID-19 concerns

TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Taylor County football team's game Friday at Vernon High School has been canceled due to COVID-19.

ABC 27 confirmed with Eddie Metcalf that he has six players on his varsity team that are in quarantine due to contact tracing. There are currently no positive cases within the Taylor County program.

Metcalf said he is still able to practice with the athletes that are able to, and the plan is to pick up their schedule next week. The Bulldogs are set to host Madison County on Oct. 23.

Metcalf said currently, his entire junior varsity team is quarantined after being exposed to a positive case.
