TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — It's playoff time for high school football teams in the state of Florida. You gotta win or you gotta hang it up until next season.
Tallahassee's Saint John Paul II is riding into the postseason with a lot of confidence, three shut-out wins, and a victory over 7A Chiles.
They'll face rival FAMU DRS in the Class 2A Quarterfinals.
FAMU DRS shut St. John Paul II out last season. That loss has stuck with the Panthers, and this year they're ready to show the Baby Rattlers and the Big Bend area what they're made of.
"I think it's a game we've been waiting for all year," said Ed Hill, the head football coach at St.John Paul II. "Unfortunately, we didn't get an opportunity to play each other during the season, but it's a game we've been waiting for. We still have a little taste in our mouths from last year, our first year. We've kind of slept through some games this year and haven't committed to it 100 percent. I think the guys are locked in. They're disciplined. They're ready to go. Everything we do, we're going to do at 110 percent."
The match-up moved to Thursday night at St. John Paul II. Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
