TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Week two of spring practice closed out Friday for high school football teams across the Big Bend. The Rickards Raiders are looking to improve off last year's 2-8 season. Raider head coach Quintin Lewis notes it could take some time, as this team is young with less than a dozen seniors, and a lot of their skill guys were lost to graduation, but so far he's been happy with their work this spring.

"The future's bright, we just have to get to it," he said. "We have to put in the hard work, put in the hours to really perform and get better as a football team. These young guys are working their tails off and really striving to be great. Each day, they're meeting our goals each day. The future is bright. The youth is going to be okay this season coming up."

Rickards plays in the Big Bend Spring Football Classic on Saturday, May 18th. They play Godby at 6:00, then close out the night against Lincoln at 7:00.
