TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - High school football in Florida enters week three of practice on Monday, and Chiles head coach Kevin Pettis is excited about 2019.
While the Timberwolves have work to do on the line, his skill guys are all back, including quarterback and West Virginia commit Garrett Greene.
Getting stronger, more consistent, and working on fundamentals are all focuses this spring as the Timberwolves look to get better.
"That's where they learn how to lead, that's where they learn how to do the things that you need, that you require to have a great team and those are cultural changes that you have to make," said Pettis. "We're slowly and surely making those changes but it takes the guys that are inside the boat rowing, not the guys that are captaining the ship, but the guys rowing it, they ahve to change the culture. That's what we're working on, teaching these guys to lead the way we need them to lead."
Chiles is playing May 18th in the nine team Big Bend Spring Football Classic. They play Gadsden County at 11 and Wakulla at noon.
