TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Heading to college is intimidating enough but, lucky for Lincoln lacrosse players Evan Taylor and Morgan Bell, the two friends will be taking the next step together.

Lincoln lacrosse players Evan Taylor and Morgan Bell have been friends since middle school.

"We were working out at this place called Go Performance and I showed up and he was the only other guy," said Taylor.

"It was like, 'Alright, I guess I'll get to know you since we're going to be working out together,'" Bell said.

"We just became friends after that," said Taylor.

"Now, he's my best friend," said Bell. "He's going to be my roommate."

The two friends will also be teammates in college at Belmont Abbey.

"I couldn't have asked for anything more really," said Bell. "I was expecting to go alone."

"I'm so excited about it," Taylor said. "When the season ended and I realized that was the last time I'd get to play, I was thankful I'd have another four years."

He'll have another four years but will never play again in green and gold.

"It was upsetting because we never got that closure," said Bell. "Our last practice, no one knew it was our last practice. No one would have thought it would have ended like this."

It was an end no one saw coming, but their time at Lincoln is one they won't forget.

"I've played a lot of sports at Lincoln, and I've met so many different people, and I think most people are good once you get to know them," Taylor said.

Good people who are moving on, and for these two, moving on together.

"Once he made that decision, I was like, this is perfect," said Bell.

"I think this is the ideal, the best case scenario," Taylor said.

It's a scenario that began at a gym in middle school.

Bell and Taylor said they're currently training together as they get ready for college and they're set to report to campus at the end of July.
