TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The North Florida Christian football team has a new head coach. On Thursday, Brent Hill was introduced to the Eagles players and staff. He's a coach new to Tallahassee, but familiar with the history of NFC.
It's that rich tradition, those eight state titles and the numerous college and professional athletes, that drew Hill to NFC from Opp High School in Alabama, where he's been the head coach the last eight seasons.
Hill was chosen from over 50 applicants for the job, a job he's ready to start and continue the legacy that's already been started.
"If you're a competitive coach, you want to be in that place," he said of taking over a successful program. "Do you really want to work at a place they don't want to win? I'd ask that question. I don't dwell no that. It is nice you're at a place where the community thinks and expects that kind of success. Of course, you want to look at seeing if you can build another chapter for that."
Hill said he plans to be permanently in Tallahassee with his family by March, where he'll start to get ready for spring football.
