TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - In two weeks, we'll celebrate the early signing period for football players. All other sports are enjoying the recognition now, and on Thursday, it all about Maclay's Jay Brown.
Brown was a baseball and swimming standout, but decided to pick up running and became competitive over the last few years. He admitted he never thought his signing day would be for cross country and track, but here we are, and on Thursday today he unveiled where he'll be spending at least the next four years, and that's right down the road at Florida State and he couldn't be more excited.
"It's super special. This has been something I've dreamed of this for a long time," he said. "It's not baseball, and right now I wouldn't say I'd want to sign for baseball. This is my love, this is awesome, I really love it."
He chose the Noles over Oregon, Florida and a wealth of other top programs.
