TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Maclay football team enjoyed a historic year, finishing 10-1 on the season. Thursday marked another big day for the Marauders, as one of their own signed his Letter of Intent to play football in college.
David Durden will continue his football carer at Sewanee, a Division III University in Tennessee. The defensive end had 56 tackles in his senior season for the Maruaders and four sacks, and of getting to play for a historic University like Sewanee? He can't wait.
"The tradition, the campus, all the people there. It's a tight knit family and I love it," he said. "It was a dream come true. I never thought I'd get to this point but I worked my butt off and I got here. Words can't put it into perspective. I jsut want to thank God and my family and all my friends that got me here."
Durden said he wants to student pre-med, eventually becoming a doctor.
