TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — High school soccer teams wrapped up regional semifinal play Saturday, with the Maclay boys taking on St. John Paul II.

Maclay is undefeated on the year, and showed why Saturday. The Marauders scored seven goals in the first half against the Panthers, who were missing two key players due to COVID-19. Ryan Daunt sealed up the victory with a goal midway through the second half, and with the 8-0 win, the Marauders are now three wins away from winning a state title.

"We all know in sports that you don't peak too early and you build momentum but you're looking for consistency," said head coach Andy Warner. "We have a basic saying here at Maclay, and if it's working keep doing it, and if it's not working, change it. We did a lot of good things tonight and we have positive momentum heading into the games next week. Definitely."

The Maclay ladies also won their regional semifinal Saturday 4-0 over Oak Hall and will play St. Johns Country Day Tuesday in the regional finals.
