TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Week three of the high school football season kicks off Friday night with Maclay hosting FAMU DRS, a game that's also supporting a good cause.

The Marauders try to dedicate each week and each game to something and this week it's raising money to fight childhood cancer.

The Marauders are raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

They were originally supposed to hold a walk before the game, but to stay socially distanced that walk was canceled, but the Marauders still want to give back, and at the end of the day, they say that's the most important thing.

"I know it's cliche, but it's bigger than the game," said head coach Lance Ramer. "We have such a platform to do great. We have such an opportunity to influence these kids. I want to get them to understand what privileges we have, we're so fortunate to have all these blessings, whether you're healthy or not. To give back and make a difference in the world, to leave the world better than you found it, that to me is a champion and hat's what we're trying to produce. Champions on and off the field."

Maclay and FAMU DRS face off Friday at 7:30 .p.m. For game tickets click here.
