TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - "I would go around myself yelling three! All this fun stuff," reflected Maclay's John Fletcher Butler of when he first fell in love with sports broadcasting. "I never actually thought I would do it."

For Butler, there is no favorite sport.

"I love doing all of them, I love sports."

Football. Volleyball. Basketball. He doesn't discriminate, and they best part? He's 13 and in the 7th grade.

"The book keeper sits next to me and the most common question I get is how old are you?" he laughed. "How did you get into this?"

It's a dream he's had since the third grade he's now living, and as they say, practice makes perfect.

"Probably more than I should of!" he said of how much he practices. "I take notes. Every time I watch a game, my dad is like what are you doing? I'm like writing notes! The one I practice and I like the most is my three call. It was just really fun for me to do and really fun for me to tweak and I change it year to year."

For Butler, who's the Marauder's full time announcer, 15 games a week is no big deal.

"It's never there's too many games, there's too few games," he smiled. "Every summer, I look forward to the school year when I can do this again. I enjoy it a lot. It's not work. It's the farthest thing from work."

Work he gets to continue at Maclay, for the next five years.
