TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Leon High School volleyball team sits atop the 6A State polls in Florida. Atop the polls is a familiar spot for the Lions. They've been to four straight Final Fours, and all that success got them an invite to the Durango Classic in Las Vegas this weekend.

This tournament features the best of the best high school teams, as a dozen of the top 100 teams in the country will be there. The Lions are one of 64 teams invited, and they're ready to test themselves out west.

"I'm not from Tallahassee, I'm from South Florida," said head coach Angie Strickland. "Our school won State Championships, and I remember my coach always saying if you're going to be the best, you have to play the best. This is a small town and a lot of people stay in the Panhandle. I refuse to do that. These kids get to see the entire country through high school ball and through club ball. It's an amazing experience and they have memories for a lifetime."

Leon heads to Las Vegas Wednesday. They play for the first time on Friday, they'll enter the tournament 11-1, as they topped Lincoln Tuesday night in straight sets.
