TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Godby High's seniors graduated Tuesday night, but on Wednesday, the celebration continued for one Cougar grad. Kiara Byrd signed a basketball scholarship with Andrew College, the only female to receive an athletic scholarship on Godby's campus this year.
Byrd led the Cougars in scoring with 15 points per game, and of continuing her hoops career? She couldn't be more excited.
"It's like home. The players remind me of my teammates here. Coach reminded me of coach (Chlesea) Johnson," she said. "It wasn't different. It felt normal. It felt like home. You dream about going to college to play ball and you get to do it. It's a blessing. "
Byrd said she wants to major in pediatric psychology.
