HAVANA, Fl. (WTXL) - At Gadsden County High School this morning, it was a happy signing day for Lady Jaguar Ta'nija Watson, who signed a basketball scholarship to Independence Community College in Kansas.
Watson, a point guard, said Independence just fit her. She wants to get to the next level, and feels like their program can help her do that, and she can't wait to represent Gadsden County.
"It means a lot. I never thought this day would come," she said on Monday. "I'm really doing this for me and my family. Just to make it and hopefully I can make it out of Gadsden County. That's very rare. Not many people can make it from Gadsden County. I never thought I could. Honestly, it means a lot and good things are coming."
