TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — For the second time in a year, the Chiles boy's golf team is celebrating a State title.

The Timberwolves won their second straight Class 3-A State Championship Saturday, shooting a two-day total of 594, beating Winter Park and Lake Mary by seven strokes.

Jake Springer finished tied for second while fellow senior Patrick McCann tied for fifth place, and in their final season, the duo agrees there's no better way to cap off their high school careers.

"Walking off of 18 green when we knew we had won, coach [Ken] Smith came up to me, and he had tears in his eyes," said McCann. "I embraced him, and it was just a crazy feeling knowing we had won back to back."

"To not only win it once last year, to be able to go back to back, it's pretty surreal, to be honest," Springer said. "It's something that we definitely won't ever take for granted in our life, probably will be something we're talking about when we're 45 years old with kids. Great group of guys to be able to do it with, couldn't really ask for a better ending to our high school career."

Congrats to Chiles!
