TAYLOR COUNTY, Fl. (WTXL) — Taylor County High School is one of the many programs that has a new head football coach. The bulldogs have a former University of Alabama guard leading them this fall.

Maurice Belser is the new head coach for bulldog football. He's an offensive guy and even though he thought he would be a defense tackle in college, he was signed to be on the o-line.

When it comes to Taylor County football, Belser explained that the bulldogs had a decent 2018 season that they just could not finish, because they were knocked out in the playoffs by Florida High.

If you ever plan to ask Coach Belser about key players during the off-season, you should know he likely won't be talking about any of them. The reason? Right now, he doesn't have guys who warrant their names being mentioned. However, as the 2019 season progresses, more names could make their rounds.

"I expect that to change. Now, do we have some really good kids? Yes. Do we have some kids that are going to be special? Absolutely. There's going to be some kids, when you hear their name and where they're from later on as the season progresses, you'll understand what I mean."
