TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Lincoln head football coach Quinn Gray made a pretty bold statement about his football team -- in all his year's coaching, he said this is the best fall camp he's ever been a part of. This team's potential? Sky high.
Coach Gray enters his third season at Lincoln High School, and he says the leadership with this year's group has been outstanding. Credit it to a strong senior class. Guys like quarterback Chris Beard, receiver Marko Skarica, and Clemson committ Sage Ennis are leading the way.
Lincoln's postseason has cut short the last two years, and they're trying to change that this season. This group is working hard, now, he's ready for the season to start to see what they can really do.
"Going against each other each and every day, we see some great things, we see some stuff we need to fix," he said. "It'll be a tell tale sign when we're able to go against a different color and get them into live action. I couldn't be more happy with the way we started camp. Guys came out here fully energized to get them where they need to be to open up our season, and on top of that, they're having fun doing it."
Lincoln opens the season on August the 23rd when they host Godby.
