VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) — Georgia Christian comes into the 2019 football season with a new head coach. The generals are expected to have just under 30 kids on the roster this year. That means spectators can expect to see offensive guys playing on the d-line and vice versa.
For new head coach Chuck Knapp, it might be a hurdle to some only having 27 players, but he calls it a blessing. "I've gotten to know these guys on a different, personal level and as coaches, it's actually a blessing, because not only do I get to know them from an offensive perspective, I also get to know them from a defensive perspective," explained Coach Knapp. "A lot of my coaches also coach them in other sports. So, the relationship you have with these guys are a whole lot deeper than you would if they were just one sport guys or one coach sport."
The generals face Skipstone Academy for their season opener on Aug. 23.
