TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Last year was history making for the Aucilla Christian football team. They made their first playoff appearance since 2005 and they're looking to build off that success this season.

Aucilla finished 8-2 last year, falling to FAMU DRS in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs. The Warriors will need to replace Blake Wirick, who led Aucilla with 16 touchdowns and had nearly 1,600 yards rushing last year.

Brady Browning will move to tailback from quarterback to fill that void and head coach Colby Roberts says they're really focused on building some depth, but with that taste of success last season, this group has been working hard to make sure they get it back.

"We're just preaching hard work, conditioning, mental toughness. All our guys, I really say they go three ways with special teams," said Roberts. "They don't come off the field. It's getting them to buy into that mindset of ironman football, just mental toughness right there. It's taken a couple years in the beginning stages as far as that goes. I think we have the majority of the kids buying into that and I think that's the key to our success."
