TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Last week, five area girls soccer teams hit the field looking to win their opening round of Regional play. Just two teams survived, and they survived thrillers, as Leon won in overtime while Florida High captured a win off penalty kicks.
Both teams hit the road Tuesday for Regional Semifinal action, with Leon at Niceville, while the Seminoles travel to Panama City to face North Bay Haven.
North Bay Haven and the Noles are familiar foes. Florida High beat the Bucs last season in the playoffs off penalty kicks, and this year, North Bay Haven got the upper hand when they faced off in December. Tuesday night is going to be a battle, and the Seminoles say they are ready.
"North Bay Haven has a couple quality players," said head coach Kyle Crawford. "All around they are a decent team all around the field. We played them earlier this year and it was a 50-50 game. If we come out and compete we have a really good chance to advance on to the next round."
That match-up kicks off at 8:00/ET.
