TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Across the state of Florida Tuesday night, high school girls basketball teams hit the hardwood for Regional Semifinal and Regional Final contests.

In Class 1A, the Madison County Cowgirls and Lafayette faced off for the fourth time this season on Tuesday night in the Region 2 Final, and this time, a loss ends the season.

The Madison County Cowgirls had the lead at halftime, and never looked back, winning 48-35 and sealing up their first trip to Lakeland.

"Offensively we moved the ball a little bit better," said Marcus Hawkins of his team's success. "Defensively we moved the ball and didn't allow them to get too many layups this time."

In the 1A Region 3 Final, West Gadsden fell to South Walton 63-41. South Walton will face Trenton in one State Semifinal contest, while Madison County will face Port St. Joe.

In Class 2A, the Florida A&M DRS Baby Lady Rattlers are on the hunt for a repeat, and they're well on their way. They won last week's Regional Quarterfinal by nearly sixty points, and the big wins continued Tuesday night, as they eliminated Aucilla Christian 67-33.

In Class 4A, East Gadsden won their first District Championship in 11 years two weeks ago, which was also the last time the Lady Jaguars made the trip to Lakeland. On Tuesday, they inched closer to another trip, as they defeated West Florida 61-45. They will host Bolles Saturday night in the Region 1 Final.

In Class 5A, the Rickards Raiders advanced to their fifth Region Final in the last eight seasons with their 59-41 win over Mosley. In Class 7A, Leon fell to Niceville in overtime 64-57, ending the Lions season.
