TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For high school boys soccer teams, the road to state has officially begun. On Wednesday, Semifinal action hit the pitch as District Tournaments charged on.
Florida High faced off with Marianna in the Class 2A-2 Semifinals, scoring late in the first half to take the 1-0 lead. The Seminoles added two second half goals to seal up the win and punch their ticket to Friday's District Championship game, where they will face Wakulla, who beat East Gadsden 3-2.
In Class 1A, the title game will feature the one seed and the two seed, as two seed West Gadsden edged Lafayette 2-0. The Panthers will face Maclay for the title on Friday, who sealed up their trip to the championship game after a John Paul II forfeit.
In Class 4A, defending 4A State Champion Chiles fell to Gainesville 4-1, while Lincoln beat Columbia 2-1. The Trojans will face Gainesville High School on Friday night for the District 2 Championship.
