HAVANA, Fl. (WTXL) - High school boys basketball teams in Florida are entering week two of practice, and for Gadsden County, it'll be tough to repeat as District Champions. There are a lot of new faces on this team.
While they may be new faces, they're talented faces. Head coach Andrew Moten is excited about this group, so excited, he took the time to showcase them to the community late last week.
He said it was a chance to give back to a community that's been through it over the last month.
"We just had a storm hit us and kind of devastated everybody," he said, referring to Hurricane Michael. "It's an opportunity for everybody to come together and pull together and show everybody that Gadsden County's strong together. We don't have but maybe one returning player from last year. This team here, we have a really good group here, young group, and I'm ready to see what they can do."
The Jaguars take on Chiles November 27th in their first game of the regular season.
