TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - After practice Friday, Florida State informed Odell Haggins that he has been voted into the Florida State Athletics Hall of Fame as a student-athlete with the induction ceremony set for Sept. 7.
In addition, Peter Warrick was informed that his jersey will be retired (the number 9 will still be active as per a practice adopted over 20 years ago) at a time that is still to be announced.
In general, the head coach of the sport in which the Hall of Fame selectee participated notifies the honoree by phone. Friday’s in-person presentation was head coach Willie Taggart’s idea for a special way to honor these two greats.
The other members of the 2018 Hall of Fame class, will be released at a later date.
